Wyoming Child Welfare Legal Resource Manual, 2nd Edition
In April of 2002, the Children's Justice Project (CJP) published the Wyoming
Child Welfare Legal Resource Manual (formerly Judicial Benchbook on Wyoming Child
Welfare Laws). The Manual is a compilation of state and federal law and
best practices and has proven to be a valuable resource for many professionals involved
in the court system. The manual was updated in 2008 and 2010.
Specifically, the Manual covers:

Key legal issues involved in child abuse and neglect,
termination of parental rights, guardianship and adoption cases;

Key federal laws including the Adoption and Safe
Families Act of 1997, Interethnic Placement Act and the Indian Child Welfare
Act;

Chapter on the Indian Child Welfare Act;

Court best practices including list of key questions
that should be addressed at each hearing;

A Child Protection Act Time Line.

Copies of the Manual are available to juvenile court judges, district court
commissioners, district/county attorneys, court-appointed guardians ad litem,
